What is the GRA Leisure Fly Fishing Canyon Trip?  Your day starts with a morning half day fishing float trip on the most productive section of Grey Reef combined with a half day afternoon scenic boat tour of Alcova & or Pathfinder Canyons.  Your day starts float fishing the most productive floatable section of the North Platte River, that particular river stretch will be up to your guide as to put you on the best fishing.  After your morning river float trip, you will break for lunch at the GRA Lodge.  Leaving lunch behind in the afternoon you will travel from GRA Lodge and site see the famous Freemont canyon, here is the catch you get to see it from a boat which not many people get to.  These afternoon leisure rides up a warm beautiful canyon is complete with afternoon appetizers & cold beverages.  This scenery fly fishing experience is absolutely amazing.  Contact GRA for trip details.

Streamer Double Hopper Run

Streamer double hopper float trips are a split float trip meaning you will float 2 separate sections of the North Platte River in the same day.  Why would you want to do this?  This split float sets you up for great trophy trout fishing using primarily streamers/nymphs in the morning.  Breaking for lunch and then floating a completely different section of river for rising trout on hoppers in the heat of the afternoon.  Best months for these awesome float trips is July thru Mid-September.

You can expect to float multiple stretches of river in the same day.
Breakfast lunch and dinner are eaten on the river and are all included. Best time of year for these trips is July through November.

Grey Reef Anglers Owner Jason Ostrander Guide History

Your guide Jason Ostrander is a native of Wyoming and has been a guide for the past 10years. Jason first began his guide career at age 21 working for GW Peterson Outfitting in northern Colorado guiding elk and deer. It was here he learned the importance of client relations and how to run a top notch service. In 2000 Jason started guiding fly fisherman on the North Platte River in and around Saratoga, WY. In 2002 Jason went to work for Bret VanRensselaer owner and operator of North Platte Lodge. Jason completed 7 full time seasons as a river guide for North Platte Lodge before embarking upon his own venture Grey Reef Anglers & Wingshooting. Jason has successfully guided hundreds of clients into fish, birds and big game. Jason offers years of experience and knowledge of fish and game and he is sure to make your next trip a success!

What is expected of my guide?

Your guide can be expected to show up on time with a clean boat and a great attitude. He will rig your rod for the day or assist you if you want to rig your own. Your guide will share his knowledge base of rigging, knots, fly selection, and fishing techniques. A friendly, patient, and professional guide will take the time to answer any questions.
